Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to take and pass internal required testing.
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints to diagnose manufacturing equipment problems.
  • Computer literacy sufficient to enter work records in the appropriate program.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to resolve most issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize projects, plan work, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to work extended shifts, including holidays, weekends, and additional hours as business needs require.

  • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment where mandatory.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, and changing belts as necessary to keep machines in optimal working condition.
  • Identify the root causes of unexpected machine breakdowns and repair machines quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime.
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, and order and install replacement parts as needed.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed.
  • Clean, organize, inventory, and stock shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule regular machine maintenance.
  • Collaborate with department heads on new products and required machinery modifications.
  • Make necessary machinery modifications, implement test runs, review test results with the product manager, and make additional alterations as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, present them to the appropriate leader, and implement, lead, or participate in solution implementation.
  • Wear personal protective equipment in all areas where it is mandatory.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
