Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years of work experience in energy efficiency, the electric or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC, residential, commercial, or industrial lighting, or conservation and energy management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with participants, contractors, customers, clients, and employees.
  • Experience in field management or supervision.
  • Ability to complete detailed building inspections, including crawl spaces and attics.
  • Knowledge of construction tools.
  • Ability to identify and resolve project application issues with customers and trade allies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and other systems.
  • Strong data-entry skills in tracking systems and databases.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.
  • Knowledge of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% within Michigan.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, touch, and handle tools or controls; lift up to 10 pounds; and work in environments with potential fumes, airborne particles, and electrical-shock risks.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate QA/QC inspection activities.
  • Review and update QA/QC systems and reporting efforts to monitor and update inspections as complete.
  • Schedule and conduct on-site inspections within the allotted timeframe.
  • Assess projects to verify that work meets client and corporate expectations and quality standards.
  • Maintain and follow QA/QC procedures and operations according to the operations manual.
  • Document deficiencies and remediation recommendations in inspection reports and forward them electronically to the Supervisor and Account Manager as soon as possible or within 24 hours of completing the inspection.
  • Organize and efficiently schedule visits, including grouping visits geographically within the designated region.
  • Travel daily to pre-scheduled appointments.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Follow and comply with safety and work rules and regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Background in building science and design, building envelope, weatherization or related fields, building maintenance, home inspection, HVAC, lighting, controls, or renewable energy.
  • An associate degree or higher with two years of continuous work experience in energy efficiency, the electric or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC, residential, commercial, or industrial lighting, or conservation and energy management.
  • BPI Building Analyst Certification.
