- Must be able to pass the lift operator’s certification test.
- Ability to read, write, and possess basic math skills.
- Ability to reach, lift, and stack cases ranging in weight from 1 to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
- Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Take received product from the dock and place it into a slot or overhead storage.
- Rotate product and hand stack cases as needed to ensure product is properly rotated.
- Complete necessary paperwork and submit it in a timely basis.
- Clean up damaged product and report the damage to a supervisor.
- Remove debris from slots and clean as needed.
- Work in a safe manner, following all training documents and procedures relating to SQF.
- Perform other tasks as necessary when required.

HICKORY – The wholesale grocery distributor MDI will expand in Hickory, upfitting about 260,000 square feet of facility space and hiring at least 125 new employees by 2026 with average wages of more than $59,000 annually, following the approval of an incentives package by North Carolina’s Economic Investment Committee on Tuesday morning. The new jobs will be added in addition to the company’s existing 630 employees, a representative from the North Carolina Department of Commerce noted on the call, and the deal is contingent upon the company meeting the job creation and investment targets laid out in the newest deal, as well as an existing Job Development Investment Grant previously awarded to the company
