This is a hybrid position in San Francisco (50% in office), and you must be located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco for the position.
About the Role
Uber is looking to add a Senior Project Manager - Tax to our Global Tax Planning & Strategy team! This role will report to our Director, Tax Counsel and will support a variety of matters including M&A, International Tax Planning and Tax Controversy. What You’ll Do
- Lead special projects aimed at the development and implementation of standardized processes and templates
- Collaborate with Tax, Corporate Development, M&A Integration, internal and external counsel, and other stakeholders to support and manage strategic transactions globally
- Assist with preparing transaction and organizational diagrams and schedules on international tax implications of proposed M&A and internal restructuring
- Manage, maintain, and update litigation-related databases, files, and records
- Track, calendar, and communicate key litigation-related deadlines
- Work with a global tax team
Basic Qualifications
- At least ten (10) years of relevant experience in tax, consulting, investment banking and/or legal roles, focused on project management and/or process improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Exhibit a high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline-driven and detail-oriented work environment utilizing excellent judgment, initiative, decision-making skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to effectively gather and summarize information, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with management team and coordinate with other teams within Uber
- Experience working with and in a cross-functional and multijurisdictional team
- Experience in M&A and strategic transactions
- Understanding of international tax concepts, including complex international tax planning and corporate transaction experience
- Understanding of accounting concepts and an affinity for quantitative analysis
- Experience with tax audits and ability to review and organize litigation documents in complex tax matters
- Highly organized and efficient with conscientious attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and Powerpoint/Google Slides
- Ability to perform in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Team player with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional groups on complex transactions
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear advice in a dynamic environment
- Ability to clearly communicate recommendations based on risk analysis in a highly ambiguous environment
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$152,000 per year - USD$168,500 per year.
