Requirements
  • The candidate must have 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, growth equity, private equity, or a top-tier strategic finance or corporate development role.
  • The candidate must be able to build and defend a three-statement model and an operating model from a blank sheet.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong corporate finance, financial modeling, and analytical skills.
  • The candidate must have commercial judgment alongside financial rigor.
  • The candidate must be comfortable using artificial intelligence tools, as this is not optional for the role.
  • The candidate must be comfortable taking extreme ownership and working in an ambiguous environment without an established organization chart or process.
  • The candidate must communicate clearly at an executive level with founders, board members, and customers' controllers.
  • The candidate must be willing to perform hands-on work across the finance and operations function.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain the company's operating model, budget, and rolling forecast as the source of truth for leadership.
  • Own key vertical software-as-a-service and usage-business metrics, including annual recurring revenue, net revenue retention, customer acquisition cost, payback, gross margin, magic number, and burn multiple.
  • Identify where unit economics break and which levers matter most.
  • Turn questions about pricing changes, new segments, hiring plans, and major deals into clear, quantified recommendations.
  • Build board decks, the data room, and investor reporting packages, and defend the numbers presented.
  • Partner with the chief executive officer to run the next fundraising process, including modeling, narrative, due diligence, and financial execution.
  • Own cash-flow forecasting, runway, and scenario planning.
  • Connect the quote-to-cash workflow from deal through invoicing and collections, ensuring annual recurring revenue is live, reconciled, and trustworthy.
  • Run key performance indicator dashboards, weekly business reviews, and agreed metrics definitions.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams on compensation plans and pipeline mathematics, and with product and operations teams on delivery costs and margins.
  • Design a lean finance and operations stack using artificial intelligence tools for reconciliations, variance narratives, data cleanup, reporting, and other repetitive work.
  • Own billing, enterprise resource planning and accounting tools, customer relationship management integrations, and dashboards, and connect them to eliminate manual handoffs.
  • Establish operating standards for an artificial-intelligence-first finance and operations function and document the playbook.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with software-as-a-service or usage-based business models and their associated metrics.
  • Accounting fluency in close and revenue recognition, or willingness to develop that fluency quickly.
  • Light technical skills in SQL, spreadsheet-as-code, or automation tools such as Zapier, Make, or n8n.
  • Interest in logistics, construction technology, or industrial software.

Tread.io provides a Transportation Management System (TMS) for construction materials logistics. Its software digitizes and streamlines how materials are bought, moved, and sold, letting users plan ahead, dispatch hundreds of drivers with one click, and receive real-time updates on their own fleet without extra hardware. The system acts as a single source of truth, reducing disputes and increasing transparency in the logistics process. Tread.io earns money through a subscription model and offers additional features sold separately, giving a flexible pricing structure. What sets Tread.io apart is its focus on the construction industry niche, its end-to-end approach to material logistics, and its emphasis on live fleet visibility and dispute elimination without requiring extra hardware. The company’s goal is to simplify and improve construction material logistics, making the process more efficient, transparent, and reliable for contractors, suppliers, and logistics providers.
