Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the dam and hydraulic structure industry.
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction for dam and hydraulic structure infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and computer-aided design tools.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
  • Work within the project Common Data Environment following established digital delivery workflows.
  • Coordinate with Digital Delivery and Information Technology teams to ensure models, data, and standards are applied correctly.
  • Support model setup, file organization, and data integration for projects.
  • Assist with maintaining model quality, consistency, and alignment with project Building Information Modeling standards.
  • Troubleshoot basic modeling, referencing, and data exchange issues and escalate when needed.
  • Integrate design models with Geographic Information Systems and other project data sources.
  • Participate in digital coordination meetings to support model alignment across disciplines.
  • Stay current with relevant Building Information Modeling tools, features, and model-centric design practices.
  • Provide informal guidance to team members on model-based workflows and digital tools.
  • Assist engineering staff with roadway, drainage, dam, dam rehabilitation, dam decommissioning, and appurtenant-structure design using model-based workflows.
  • Assist with creating and modifying 3D models, alignments, profiles, and corridors using Autodesk design platforms.
  • Assist with preparing construction documents, plan sheets, and design deliverables from project models, including engineering design drawings issued for construction.
  • Interpret and develop site plans, profiles, sections, details, structural layouts, schematics, and equipment layouts for engineering design drawings using civil and structural engineering concepts.
  • Read and understand engineering markups for design drawings, plan sets, details, and figures; back-check and review prepared design drawings.
  • Coordinate design elements with survey, utilities, structures, and other disciplines.
  • Apply standards, client requirements, and project specifications to design tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with company and client computer-aided design standards, styles, and protocols.
  • Participate in project meetings to coordinate technical design and modeling decisions.
  • Review design work for quality, accuracy, and constructability within the model environment.
  • Support project delivery through concept, preliminary, and final design phases.
  • Respond to review comments and revise models and plans accordingly.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently while meeting project expectations, deadlines, and day-to-day workload requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Civil 3D, and InfraWorks.
  • Proficiency in ProjectWise.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation.
  • Working knowledge of application programming interfaces.
  • Experience working on complex, multidisciplinary projects in a Building Information Modeling environment.
  • Understanding of 3D Building Information Modeling processes, including clash detection, scheduling, and quantity take-offs.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650 and other relevant Building Information Modeling standards.
  • Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
