Requirements
  • An active and unrestricted registered nurse license in the state of practice is required.
  • A minimum of one year of nursing experience is required.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required.
  • Demonstrated competency in patient care standards and infusion skill sets applicable to agency programs and service needs is required.
  • Required licensure to operate a motor vehicle in the state of practice, access to a vehicle for business travel, and proof of liability insurance are required.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications, with the ability to use nursing technology tools to communicate and document care, is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with a maximum lifting capability of 75 pounds, is required.
  • Required safety equipment includes closed-toe shoes, a facemask, goggles, a gown or gloves, and a functioning communication device for routine and emergency situations.
Responsibilities
  • Initiate, develop, and implement intermediate nursing plans of care and treatments, evaluate patient progress, provide direct patient care, perform treatments, administer medications, educate patients and caregivers, and modify treatment plans in response to patient status or physician orders.
  • Assess patient needs and physical status during each skilled visit, re-evaluate needs through physical reassessment and response to therapy, obtain and clarify physician orders, inform physicians of significant changes, and provide written summaries.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Infusion Nurse I staff as needed to ensure patient safety and compliance.
  • Provide patient-centered teaching to patients and families to support independence with prescribed therapy and care needs.
  • Communicate with clinical teams, medical providers, patients, and caregivers to facilitate continuity of care; prepare real-time clinical documentation and submit it within established timelines.
  • Coordinate discharge planning, prepare discharge summaries and patient instructions, and report patient care needs, progress, and goals during care transfers.
  • Comply with agency operations, organizational policies and procedures, professional standards, applicable regulations and guidelines, and accreditation standards.
  • Use computers and automation technologies to validate treatment orders, communicate care provided, and follow assigned visit schedules.
  • Respond to patient requests and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Maintain ethical and professional conduct and accountability for nursing practice.
  • Safeguard confidential patient and proprietary information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Explain the organization's scope of services and instruct patients about financial obligations for care and service charges.
  • Complete required training, in-services, and continuing education to maintain competency and professional licensure.
  • Provide oversight and coordination of paraprofessionals in the home setting and act as supervisor in the absence of the supervisor or nurse manager when applicable.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences and provide precepting, training, and mentoring for nurse orientation, onboarding, and assigned supervisory activities.
  • Participate in nursing department on-call responsibilities.
  • Insert PICC lines and midlines when ordered by a physician, troubleshoot and declot obstructed central line catheters, and monitor PICC lines and midlines while educating patients about infection prevention and routine care.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
  • Travel up to 100% of the time for business purposes.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • One to two years of previous infusion nursing experience.

However, CID-related pressure is expected to reduce 2026 revenue by roughly 600 basis points and gross profit by $55 million. The home and alternate-site infusion provider maintained its full-year revenue guidance at $5.675 billion to $5.775 billion. Adjusted EBITDA guidance was narrowed to $480 million to $495 million, and adjusted EPS guidance to $1.85 to $1.92. The company repurchased $150 million of shares, nearly 5% of shares outstanding.

Option Care Health posts weakest Q1 among home health stocks, shares drop 27%

Option Care Health, the largest independent provider of home infusion services in the US, reported Q1 revenues of $1.35 billion, up 1.3% year on year but missing analyst expectations by 3.3%. The company operates 177 locations across 43 states with over 4,500 clinicians. Chief executive John Rademacher acknowledged the "mixed performance" and expressed dissatisfaction with revenue growth momentum. Full-year guidance also fell short of analyst expectations. Across the senior health, home health and hospice sector, seven tracked companies reported a satisfactory Q1, with revenues beating consensus estimates by 0.9% on average. However, Option Care Health posted the weakest performance against analyst estimates despite raising full-year guidance. The stock has fallen 27.1% since reporting, currently trading at $21.59.
