ProSidian Seeks a Principle Industrial Hygienist - Industrial Hygiene headquartered near Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina to support an engagement for Nuclear Energy Sector Clients The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. It encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia. SRS is close to several cities, including Augusta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. It is also within a few hours of Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte. 

This *** | Exempt position currently best aligns with the Principle Industrial Hygienist IH 102 Labor Category and ideal candidates exhibit the ability to visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges while confidently engaging in productive “Jugaad” and dialogue targeting mission success.  ProSidian Team Members work to provide temporary staffing support services to support Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the Liquid Waste (LW) Contractor located at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC 29808.  Services anticipated incudes storage, integration, treatment and disposition of the liquid radioative waste being managed at the Savannah River Site (DOE).

• Applies technical experience in Industrial Hygiene (IH) and uses other technical resources to resolve complex problems.
• Incorporates advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination of oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
• Provides leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area of IH.
• Provides direction and position responsibility, both inside and outside department lines for programs seeking new approaches to problems and new application of existing IH principles.
• Evaluates the results of program assessments and prepares reports and recommendations based on these evaluations.
• Identifies and recommends improvements where established technology components and methodology are inadequate for solution.
• Keeps informed of the advancement of technology as applied through area of expertise.
• Communicates results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues and management.
• Maintains expertise in area of specialty through technical literature and involvement in national professional organizations.
• Demonstrates commitment to quality concepts by active participation and successful implementation of department initiatives.

Qualifications

The Principle Industrial Hygienist - Industrial Hygiene shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.  Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct.  The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

SRR shall review ProSidian personnel resumes and ensure individual has familiarity required to successfully execute required task in the defined time period.     B.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related physical or biological science, or special studies and training in these disciplines and 10-15 years related experience, or

• M.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related physical or biological science and 8-12 years related experience, or
• Ph.D. in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related physical or biological science and 5-10 years related experience.           Understands and applies advanced IH theories, concepts and art; working knowledge of related disciplines. The 40-hour work week schedule will be determined by the assigned facility to accommodate the current demand of work evolutions and shift rotations. Candidate may be assigned to various shift schedules. Standard Facilities Access required but a security clearance is not currently required for this position

TRAVEL:  Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.  Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.  LOCATION:  Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina

• U.S.  Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
• All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a “Facility Access Authorization” (also referred to as an “Employment Authorization”) by the USG’s designated Security Office.
