Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Qualification to practice before the Internal Revenue Service, such as a Juris Doctor, Certified Public Accountant, or Enrolled Agent.
  • At least 5 years of tax experience in consulting or compliance within public accounting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role involving clients and team members.
Responsibilities
  • Review and prepare corporate tax compliance for clients, including federal, state, and local tax returns, quarterly estimates, vouchers, extensions, and projections.
  • Review and prepare corporate income tax provision calculations.
  • Review and conduct high-level tax research on complex or emerging tax issues and prepare memoranda supporting conclusions.
  • Stay current with changes in tax regulations and develop federal and state tax-planning skills.
  • Advise clients on tax planning, research, compliance, allocations, and general transactional activities.
  • Manage engagement reviews, confirm assignment objectives, scope, and work plans with clients, and manage the workflow of multiple clients and related deliverables.
  • Manage engagement budgets and billing, meet internal and external deadlines, and minimize risk and surprises.
  • Manage people teams, identify assignment resource requirements, and assign appropriate resources to assignment roles.
  • Analyze billing and assist with accounts receivable collections from clients.
  • Provide support, guidance, and on-the-job training to develop less experienced individuals technically.
  • Supervise and delegate work to staff and seniors and proactively manage the work and resource pipeline.
  • Provide responsive, timely, and quality client service with client ownership and effective communication.
  • Develop tax technical and software skills through instructor-led courses, self-guided learning, workflow updates, and on-the-job training.
  • Provide constructive feedback and conduct performance reviews.
  • Assist with new business development, extended services, and tax-issue recognition for existing clients.
  • Coach and mentor staff and seniors on client engagements and career paths.

Armanino names Anthony Sciarra as partner-in-charge of national tax practice

Armanino acquires MSTiller to expand Southeast presence with 110-person team

Armanino, the San Ramon-based accounting firm ranked 18th on Accounting Today's 2025 Top 100 Firms list, has acquired MSTiller to expand its presence in the Southeast. The acquisition adds 10 partners and approximately 110 employees across four offices. MSTiller advises middle-market organisations, family-owned businesses and private foundations across industries including automotive dealerships, construction, hospitality and real estate development. The firm had a longstanding relationship with Armanino through the Moore Global network. Armanino reported $716 million in revenue with 262 partners and roughly 2,700 employees across 22 offices. The firm took a minority investment from Further Global Capital Management in October 2024 and recently acquired Step Up Consulting in February 2026.
