Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Health Education, or in a job related field of study
  • One (1) year of work related experience in a health care setting
  • Skilled in the use of standard software applications
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, with a good driving record and reliable transportation
Responsibilities
  • Researches training materials, resources, and facilitates related to public health education programs for the community or a specific group as well as develops, coordinates, and conducts health education programs and activities
  • Assist in writing, editing, and coordinating the development of promotional, educational, training materials, newsletters, brochures as appropriate to the program for the community or given population/specific group as well as develops health education materials and resources for Health and Human Services and responds to requests from the community for literature
  • Oversees monthly health promotional displays within the department
  • Identifies populations or specific groups, communities, and organizations that would benefit from public health training courses and program
  • Provides translation services to non-English speaking residents and serves as initial point of contact for the non-English speaking residents for the targeted group, Medical Reserve and Corp Volunteers
  • Performs other duties as assigned
