  • For Cardiac Cath Lab Nurses: 1 year nursing experience in acute care setting (ICU/stepdown/ER) and 1 year+ IR, EP, or Cardiac Cath Lab experience (where applicable)
  • Two years' experience with Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical nursing (for 6th Floor Med/Surg)
  • BSN preferred (if not upon hire, will obtain within 5 years)
  • Experience in treating orthopedic and stroke patient populations preferred (where applicable)
  • Certification in clinical specialty or management desired (general)
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chief Nursing Officer in leading the patient care team to ensure safety, recovery and comfort of patients by implementing the nursing process including assessment, nursing diagnosis, plan of care, education plan, implementation of interventions, evaluation of interventions and revision of plan as needed; provide education and advocacy
  • Practice in compliance with regulatory requirements including CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, California Department of Public Health regulations, DNV-GL/NIAHO standards
  • Support department manager and director in quality improvement and growth of unit services; provide leadership in collaboration with co-workers and other departments; manage efficient services with meaningful and valuable outcomes
  • Assist charge nurse with planning delivery of patient care for the shift; contribute to overall unit planning and improvement
  • Precepting and competency validating new hires and procedures; teaching nursing students
  • Delegating to other RNs, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants
  • Coordinating assigned team; communicating expectations to assigned staff; addressing improvement opportunities; handling unusual events; other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
