Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience is required.
  • Experience supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation is required.
  • Experience with injection molding operations, injection blow molding, and reheat stretch blow molding systems is required.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers, robotics, automation, and industrial controls is required.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management system management and reliability-centered maintenance programs is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, prioritize resources to address high-risk items first, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and influence employees at all levels is required.
  • The ability to travel up to 10% is required.
  • The ability to work standing for 8 to 10 consecutive hours, remain stationary for extended periods, move around the production floor, handle 10 to 20 pounds, and walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach, and grasp for varying periods is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead all maintenance, reliability, facilities, automation, and technical support functions for a 24/7 plastics manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of injection molding, injection blow molding, reheat stretch blow molding production equipment, and supporting utilities.
  • Develop and execute maintenance strategies that maximize equipment uptime, improve reliability, support operational goals, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote and maintain a safety culture and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, environmental requirements, and company policies.
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions related to maintenance incidents and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and according to established procedures.
  • Develop and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Drive equipment reliability and plant uptime through proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for chronic equipment issues.
  • Establish reliability standards and maintenance best practices across the facility.
  • Maintain effective maintenance planning and scheduling processes.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for injection molding systems, injection blow molding equipment, reheat stretch blow molding equipment, auxiliary processing equipment, chillers, compressors, dryers, conveyors, utility systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and automation systems.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Partner with suppliers, original equipment manufacturers, and engineering resources to improve equipment performance.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a skilled maintenance workforce.
  • Establish performance expectations and development plans for team members.
  • Ensure adequate technical support and staffing across all shifts.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead initiatives focused on improving overall equipment effectiveness, reliability, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Use maintenance metrics and data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive sustainable solutions that improve operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage annual maintenance and facilities budgets.
  • Control maintenance expenditures while ensuring equipment reliability.
  • Manage critical spare parts inventory and vendor relationships.
  • Support capital planning and execution of equipment and facility projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with plastics manufacturing processes is preferred.
