  • Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy assistant with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Hold a current Texas state license to practice occupational therapy.
  • Have at least one year of home health care experience.
  • Have strong clinical and assessment skills.
  • Be able to work independently and manage time effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Administer the occupational therapy treatment plan developed by the occupational therapist.
  • Assess and facilitate therapeutic interventions for range of motion, strength, coordination, adaptive equipment, and functional mobility.
  • Facilitate range of motion, strength, coordination, use of adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, functional mobility, and safety issues related to patients' activities of daily living needs under occupational therapist supervision.
  • Apply infection control and universal precautions while coordinating and performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and disease transmission.
  • Accept clinical assignments consistent with education and competence to care for patients.
  • Communicate with physicians and healthcare practitioners involved in patients' care.
  • Participate in the agency's quality assurance and performance improvement program and in-service training.
  • Meet continuing education requirements and demonstrate professional growth and competency.
  • Promote the agency's philosophy and policies to ensure high-quality care.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of home health experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience using Homecare Homebase electronic medical record software.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with elderly patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
