- An MD or DO medical degree from an accredited institution is required.
- An unrestricted, clear Maryland medical license is required, or the ability to obtain one.
- A Drug Enforcement Administration license is required, or the ability to obtain one.
- The role is open to surgeons, family medicine physicians, and internal medicine physicians.
- Previous wound care experience is not required because comprehensive specialty training is provided.
- Lead wound care initiatives within skilled nursing facilities throughout the Baltimore Metro and surrounding counties.
- Perform surgical debridement and other bedside procedures.
- Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
- Collaborate on patient care within the post-acute setting.
- Manage clinical patient outcomes with autonomy.
- Complete wound care training, workshops, and company-provided continuing medical education.
Skilled Wound Care is a physician-led provider of wound-care services for skilled nursing and long-term-care facilities. Clinicians deliver bedside assessment and treatment while collaborating with facility teams on documentation, prevention, and follow-up. The organization also trains and supports physicians building specialized wound-care practices. The provider brings specialist physicians into post-acute facilities and integrates recurring rounds, bedside treatment, care-team communication, clinical documentation, prevention, supply decisions, and education intended to improve healing and reduce avoidable escalation.
