Requirements
  • An MD or DO degree with a current Michigan license to practice within a designated physician specialty.
  • Board certification or board eligibility, with certification required within four years of employment if board eligible.
  • Completion of all other licensed independent practitioner credentialing and privileging requirements, including maintaining at least Basic Life Support certification.
  • Thorough working knowledge of prevailing standards of care, InterCare clinical guidelines, patient care policies and procedures, and applicable accreditation and Patient-Centered Medical Home standards.
  • Professional-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Professional cross-cultural communication skills with patients, prospective employees, vendors, business associates, and staff members at all levels.
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, comprehensive, patient-centered primary health care to InterCare’s Eau Claire population.
  • Engage fully in InterCare’s Patient-Centered Medical Home service delivery model and family medicine best practices.
  • Provide efficient and effective patient care according to clinical standards relevant to licensure.
  • Meet daily productivity targets; family practice physicians are anticipated to see 22 patients per eight-hour day.
  • Maintain a strong patient focus and service excellence in patient care and interactions with team members.
  • Meet coding documentation standards in the electronic health record.
  • Work toward achieving Uniform Data System expected outcome measures and Meaningful Use requirements.
  • Participate constructively as a clinical team member.
  • Participate in assigned share-of-call responsibilities.
  • Communicate with partners and the site manager regarding call schedules, time off, site coverage, and inbox/prior-authorization coverage.
  • Attend provider, site, and assigned committee meetings as appropriate.
  • Read and respond to emails in a timely manner according to policy.
  • Supervise assigned mid-level providers according to Michigan practice requirements.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a compassionate, ethical, and professional demeanor.
  • Develop the leadership attributes identified by InterCare’s Provider Success Profile.
  • Maintain a positive leadership presence in the clinic setting.
  • Participate constructively in meetings and as part of a team.
  • Maintain informative and cooperative working relationships with InterCare staff and colleagues.
