Chronograph, a portfolio monitoring technology provider for private capital investors, has launched Semantic Search, an AI-powered capability that enables limited partners to search structured and unstructured data using natural language queries. The feature understands query intent and context rather than relying on keyword matching, allowing investors to surface relevant documents across their entire portfolio simultaneously without file-size limitations. It is available through Chronograph's ChronoAI interface and Claude connector via Model Context Protocol. The system is domain-trained for private markets terminology, so queries about "returns" can surface references to IRR, MOIC or DPI. It combines Chronograph's structured quantitative data with unstructured portfolio document commentary. Founded in 2016, Chronograph is backed by Summit Partners, The Carlyle Group and Nasdaq.
