Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; college education in related field preferred but not required.
  • One or more years’ experience in a professional customer service/cash handling and/or financial services environment.
  • Clear understanding of English communication; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; a comprehensive knowledge of all bank forms and documents used in opening new accounts; working knowledge of account maintenance; proficient knowledge of bank retail products and services, along with the operating policies and procedures that impact these products.
  • Processing loan requests and loan maintenance; knowledge of lending policy and all loan types; knowledge of Home Equity loans; visual and auditory skills.
  • Acting as a resource and mentor to less experienced Universal Bankers.
  • Register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) prior to performing Mortgage Loan Originator duties as needed to originate loans secured by a first mortgage (upon manager recommendation and as required).
  • Perform other operational duties as delegated by Branch Manager.
  • Take needed course work and execute duties of a Notary Public as approved and required.
  • Promote a good image of the bank by volunteering for civic and community activities as an individual or part of a team.
  • Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel and departments to ensure smooth flow of information.
  • Abide by laws and organizational policies to promote a harassment-free workplace and compliance with regulatory requirements (CRA, BSA, EEO, etc.).
  • Report information to supervisor as requested and provide data to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to inquiries within given time frames and established policy.

  • Provide prompt, courteous service to customers and prospective customers by offering value-added insight during teller transactions, new deposit account opening, consumer loan processes and other financial service interactions.
  • Maintain frequent customer contact and, through the consultative approach, strive to retain customers, deepen relationships and generate new business.
  • Support a team environment across branches and with specialty departments to enhance the customer experience and differentiate The Dime Bank in its markets.
