Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required for the Technician III, Technician IV, and Senior Technician I levels.
  • Technician IV requires two years of related experience.
  • Senior Technician I requires four years of related experience.
  • Experience maintaining and operating nanofabrication tools, including thin-film deposition, photolithography, metrology, and reactive ion etching tools, is desirable.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues on nanofabrication equipment is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of facilities associated with a Class 100 cleanroom, including clean dry air, nitrogen, air handlers, dirty air scrubbers, and fan filter units, is desirable.
  • Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance functions with minimal supervision after substantial on-the-job training is required for the Technician III level.
  • Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance functions without supervision after training is required for the Technician IV level.
  • Ability to work with contractors, engineers, quality control personnel, specialized maintenance contractors, and original equipment manufacturers is required.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and cleanliness protocols in a cleanroom facility is required.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support facilities, utility equipment, and nanofabrication processing equipment.
  • Use technical manuals, online resources, and original equipment manufacturer representatives to maintain equipment operation with minimal downtime.
  • Support technicians, specialized maintenance contractors, and original equipment manufacturers during complex equipment interventions.
  • Work with contractors, engineers, and quality control personnel on changes or improvements to systems.
  • Train and guide junior team members at the Senior Technician I level.
  • Make strategic decisions about the management of the AggieFab infrastructure at the Senior Technician I level.
