Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • At least four years of experience in health and safety, or a bachelor's degree in a safety-related field of study, is required.
  • Basic knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, including regulatory requirements and hazard identification, is required.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Administer, support, and maintain facility safety programs and policies.
  • Continuously evaluate facility safety, including machine guarding, ergonomics, slip-trip-fall hazards, and electrical safety.
  • Collaborate with facility management on operational and safety concerns and solutions.
  • Educate team members on the company's safety culture.
  • Conduct incident analyses, including root cause analysis and fishbone diagrams.
  • Administer industrial hygiene testing.
  • Support and coordinate safety training for facility teams.
  • Complete paperwork required for regulatory or program compliance.
  • Partner with management, supervisors, and team members to maintain a safe and supportive work environment.
  • Supervise personnel as part of the position's supervisory responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • A professional certification is preferred.
  • One year of safety experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
  • Bilingual ability is preferred.
