Job Summary:
As an Intern Technician at ONEOK, you will assist in providing operational, technical, electrical, and mechanical support for facility assets. You will gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment within an assigned area and experience hands on training and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in providing technical support for locations involved in the transportation of refined petroleum products.
Learn and apply company policies/procedures related to the operation and maintenance of assigned assets, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and US DOT Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements.
Participate in safety training meetings.
Help perform routine testing, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mainline and facility equipment/systems, including electric motors, electrical equipment, instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, measurement systems, piping systems, valves, pumps, and flow meters.
Assist with medium voltage (up to 4,160 volts), three-phase electrical equipment.
Complete and maintain documentation/records associated with maintenance and repair tasks.
Support location projects, including overhauls, troubleshooting for pumps and mechanical seals, new installations, or modifications of existing equipment.
Perform other tasks as requested by the Supervisor of Maintenance.
Education:
Currently pursuing degree or certificate related to this role.
Skills and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of tools and equipment, including manual/power tools and electronic testing devices.
Familiarity with computers and related software.
Understanding of safety practices for handling flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems.
Ability to read and interpret repair orders, mechanical drawings, procedures, charts, diagrams, dials, gauges, and equipment manuals.
Strong communication skills for exchanging written and verbal information and instructions.
Ability to travel from a base location to remote locations during normal shifts and on a call-out basis.
