Requirements
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in Freight & Cargo Risk Management or Insurance Program Management.
  • Good network of carriers and deep understanding of insurance principles, products, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, proficiency with Excel (Google Sheets), and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the capacity to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to successful completion.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in freight & cargo insurance and risk management.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Freight & Cargo insurance programs in line with organizational objectives, including creating program specification documents, filings, and policy forms.
  • Collaborate with insurance brokers and carriers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions for insurance policies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with insurance carriers, maintaining regular communication and addressing concerns proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing insurance operations.
  • Oversee the administration of insurance policies, including premium payments, renewals, and claims processing.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in the Freight & Cargo space, staying abreast of industry developments and best practices.
  • Ensure alignment across business and technical teams to deliver on business requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of insurance programs to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, clients, and carriers, highlighting key metrics, trends, and recommendations.
  • Identify and attend relevant insurance industry events and program-specific gatherings.
