Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree, or a Master's degree and one year of related experience as a substitute for the minimum experience requirement.
  • Three years of related experience in recruitment, admissions, or enrollment management at a college or university or comparable setting; one year is required when substituting a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of transfer and/or graduate admissions processes, requirements, policies, and their relationship to other academic and administrative offices.
  • Ability to travel for recruitment purposes and work irregular hours during scheduled times, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to provide competent advice to prospective students while maintaining confidentiality of admissions records.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and ensure completion of multiple tasks with multiple deadlines, working independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong customer service and public presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to plan, initiate, and organize recruitment events.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
  • Recruit, counsel, and advise transfer students, families, and groups regarding the application process, required credentials, admission requirements, financial aid, scholarships, career choices, housing, honors programs, student involvement, and academic programs.
  • Solve programmatic and procedural problems and provide guidance requiring substantial knowledge of university operations, programs, and policies; conduct on-campus interviews and sessions with families.
  • Communicate with transfer constituencies through phone calls, email, postcards, text messages, social media, and letters.
  • Manage travel and recruitment of prospective transfer students, including outreach calendars for community college visits, targeted community events, and designated on- and off-campus programs.
  • Coordinate undergraduate transfer recruitment and admission programs.
  • Facilitate working relationships with university employees, secondary school constituents, and community college colleagues.
  • Assist the Director in designing, developing, and implementing admissions services, procedures, recruitment plans, and marketing plans.
  • Coordinate and participate in course credit articulation evaluations, including articulation and bridge agreements with community colleges.
  • Maintain contact with community college contacts in target areas as the primary point of contact for the Office of Admissions.
  • Coordinate transfer articulation workshops and activities.
  • Serve as a liaison for recruitment and outreach of prospective graduate students and maintain contact throughout the admission process through email, phone, text message, and in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Collaborate with academic program partners to identify and expand the prospect pool, develop recruitment strategy, and execute outreach campaigns.
  • Advise prospective graduate students on program selection, fit, and admissibility, and communicate the value of the university to prospects, applicants, and admitted students.
  • Represent graduate programs at college, corporate, and other recruiting events, including information sessions, open houses, class visits, workshops, and networking receptions.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Graduate Recruitment and Marketing/Communications to develop effective digital and print marketing materials.
  • Analyze graduate recruitment event data, generate weekly graduate enrollment statistics reports, create ad hoc queries using the customer relationship management system, monitor market competitiveness of graduate programs, and assess communication-strategy effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with academic program partners, graduate enrollment management staff, and university administrators to support students' transition from admission to matriculation, including participation in orientation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education, Communications, Business/Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in graduate admissions, recruitment, or student life in a university setting.
  • Advanced experience with admissions customer relationship management systems such as Slate and the Banner Student Information System.
  • Documented excellence in a professional role involving daily one-on-one interaction in a dynamic, service-oriented environment.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, technical information.
