NineDot Energy secures $431M financing for 28 battery storage projects in New York City

NineDot Energy has secured $431 million in debt financing led by Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking to construct 28 battery energy storage projects across New York City. The facilities will deliver 124 MW and 494 MWh of capacity, sufficient to power over 100,000 households during peak summer demand. The financing comprises a construction-to-term loan, tax-credit-transfer bridge loan and letter-of-credit facility. Projects will reach commercial operation through end-2027 and are expected to create over 3,000 jobs whilst generating nearly $3.5 billion in economic output. All projects are enrolled in New York's Statewide Solar for All programme, which will contribute over $60 million to energy affordability initiatives over 10 years. NineDot has now raised over $1 billion and aims to achieve 400 MW of battery storage by end-2026.
