Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, or equivalent technical experience progressing through the ranks from Journeyman to Foreman to Superintendent.
  • At least 6 years of similar construction field management experience.
  • Understanding and interpretation of safety laws and company policies and standards.
  • Application of innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activity vitals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied self-performing trade disciplines.
  • Ability to assemble 90-day and 3-week schedules in Microsoft Excel and use Microsoft Word for pre-planning processes.
  • Ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise skilled trades crews and manage onsite construction activities for large industrial projects, primarily water and wastewater plant construction, as well as factories, production facilities, and data centers.
  • Collaborate with the Area Manager, Project Manager, and Project Engineers to provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of projects, focusing on safety, production, and profitability.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints; resolve problems; and assist with interviewing and training employees as needed.
  • Lead and manage several Foremen in conducting work safely, productively, and with a focus on quality.
  • Establish a 24/7 safety culture for crews.
  • Assist the Project Manager in creating the Primavera P6 project schedule.
  • Develop 90-day and 3-week schedules for crews.
  • Conduct pre-planning and goal setting with crews.
  • Oversee costs associated with work items.
  • Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tooling, and material needs for crews.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors.
