Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of five years of relevant healthcare work experience which must include experience in patient billing
  • Proficiency in speaking, understanding, interpreting, and writing medical terminology
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be personable and comfortable interacting with medical patients and their families
  • Requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate in a positive, professional manner with medical professionals
  • Requires ability to work alternating weekends
Responsibilities
  • The Program Coordinator coordinates payer communication, transition plan implementation, delivery of patient documentation and other duties in support of case management departmental functions
  • Supports the RN Case Managers and Social Workers in their work with the interdisciplinary healthcare team across the continuum
  • Reviews workload and operating procedures of a designated program area; determines priorities and makes staff assignments to control the workload
  • Plans, supervises and participates in agency programs
  • Provides assistance in the establishment of new programs or the modification of existing programs
  • Conducts surveys and studies of problems and needs; makes recommendations to appropriate officials
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the status of assigned program area(s)
  • Reviews, evaluates and reports on assigned program area(s)
  • Provides technical assistance and training to staff, management, the public and other governmental entities regarding assigned program area(s)
  • Reviews the workload and operating procedures of a designated program area; determines priorities and makes staff assignments to control the workload
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to speak Spanish desired
