We are looking for a seasoned SoC Design Verification Lead to lead and inspire our growing verification team in Ontario, Canada.
As the SoC Design Verification Lead, you will manage a highly skilled team of Digital Design Verification (DV) Engineers working on the verification of Tenstorrent’s advanced chiplets, SoC logic, and IP. You will be responsible for overseeing the verification processes, driving best practices, and ensuring successful project delivery. Additionally, you will be tasked with fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment, while also helping to shape the technical direction of the team.
This role is hybrid, based out of Boston, MA, Toronto, Ontario, or Ottawa, Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Digital Verification Engineers responsible for verifying Tenstorrent’s SoC logic and digital IP.
- Participate in & oversee the creation of test plans, development of testbenches, monitors, checkers, tests, models, assertions, methodologies, integration of VIP, etc…
- Ensure the application of advanced verification methodologies such as UVM, FPGA prototyping, and emulation. (Formal is a plus)
- Champion best practices for low power verification and coverage-driven constrained random verification.
- Monitor the verification process, including functional, performance and power verification, and drive the team toward successful tape-out.
- Conduct regular reviews of verification metrics and results, ensuring that verification convergence meets project goals.
- Provide & explain verification execution metrics and how they relate to program status. Use this to understand and drive changes in plans or resources as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as architects, designers, and post-silicon validation teams to ensure comprehensive coverage and performance optimization.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and performance feedback to your team, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
- Handle resource planning, project prioritization, and ensure the team remains aligned with organizational goals.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in digital hardware verification, with at least 4 years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven experience with SoC-level verification, including SystemVerilog, UVM, and constrained random verification techniques.
- Strong experience in low power verification methodologies and power/performance validation.
- Leads at Tenstorrent are part of the execution team, and as such, directly participate in the development of SV-UVM, C/C++(DPI), python, perl, TCL, test bench code. Candidates are expected to have strong & demonstrable proficiency in some or all of the above.
- Expertise in FPGA prototyping and emulation techniques.
- A strong understanding of computer architecture, machine learning frameworks, and efficient parallelization methods for deep learning execution & modern CPU architectures & micro-architecture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on team-building, leadership, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Prior experience in driving project verification from concept to tape-out.
