Requirements
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification is desired, or the ability to obtain certification is required.
  • At least one year of previous bartending experience or bartender certification is required.
  • Demonstrated customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform repetitive duties in a fast-paced environment are required.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English is required to meet guest needs and complete paperwork.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally is required.
  • Ability to walk, stand, carry, and move throughout the property continuously during the shift is required.
Responsibilities
  • Greet guests courteously and friendly, take beverage orders, prepare and deliver beverages, respond to guest needs, and provide quality service.
  • Operate the Micros operating system and cash register, and follow cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures to close guest checks accurately.
  • Dispense appropriate levels of alcohol and prepare drinks according to recipes and brand standards.
  • Use bar equipment properly and follow cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
  • Check guests’ identification and monitor alcohol consumption to comply with state and local liquor laws.
  • Assist other associates as needed to meet guest needs.
  • Dispose of garbage, pick up trays, restock barware, and clear and wipe down the bar.
  • Transfer dirty glassware to the dish room and polish clean glassware.
  • Complete required paperwork, beginning- and end-of-shift inventory, and other assigned duties.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and handle beverages and food in compliance with company, brand, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the bar and storeroom.
  • Follow procedures for guest and associate incidents and remain knowledgeable about hotel emergency procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to produce the required volume of work.
  • Follow grooming, appearance, work-rule, department-procedure, meeting, and attendance requirements.
  • Complete required side work and contribute to the guest experience.
