About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing our security event management (SIEM) platform and effectively responding to security incidents. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the security and integrity of our organization’s digital assets and data.

Responsibilities

Implement, configure, and maintain a security event management platform (SIEM), such as Splunk, to collect and analyze system data to detect security events.
Develop and maintain custom dashboards, reports, and alerts to monitor the security posture of the organization.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering, to define and refine use cases for security event monitoring.
Monitor and analyze security events and incidents in real-time to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to enhance the security event management process.
Lead the investigation and analysis of security incidents to determine the root cause and impact.
Together with relevant stakeholders, execute incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
Document incident response activities, findings, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Manage and optimize security tools and technologies used for intrusion detection and prevention.
Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to ensure that security tools are up to date and properly configured.
Perform regular assessments of the effectiveness of security tools and recommend improvements or enhancements as needed.
Conduct tabletop exercises and drills to ensure readiness in the event of a security incident.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in implementing and managing security event management platforms.
Demonstrated experience in incident response and handling security incidents.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with security tools and technologies, including intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) are a plus. #LI-Remote
