Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Three to twenty years of related experience.
  • An Engineer-in-Training credential is required.
  • Project experience designing water treatment plant upgrades, water distribution systems, pump stations, and stormwater assets.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Experience managing the preparation of and reviewing and approving engineering plans, specifications, project schedules, and construction cost estimates.
  • Participation in VA AWWA, VWEA, or other regional or national professional associations.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to a team of engineers and project managers while supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Lead pursuits and oversee technical work and staff as a Senior Manager in the Water Group.
  • Support condition assessment evaluations for water and stormwater assets, including pipelines and pump stations, using various design approaches and technologies.
  • Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for task assignments, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Work directly with municipal clients to identify needs, provide solutions, and help draft task order proposals.
  • Coordinate project execution with other disciplines and the Project Manager or Contract Manager.
  • Develop small- to large-scale design projects from planning through construction.
  • Prepare complete construction packages, including plans, specifications, and OPCC, for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water systems.
  • Support the growth of client relationships.
  • Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring design tasks are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations and perform technical analyses using third-party software platforms.
  • Participate in local office activities to encourage collaboration, foster client development, and improve office camaraderie.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Texas Professional Engineer license is preferred.
  • Hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.
  • Experience using Bluebeam is desired.
