  • Demonstrate solid C programming fundamentals, including pointers, memory, bit manipulation, and comfort reading a datasheet.
  • Have exposure to microcontrollers through coursework, projects, clubs, or prior internships, including Arduino, ESP32, STM32, or Nordic platforms.
  • Have basic Git fluency, including branching, commits, and pull requests.
  • Be comfortable with the command line and at least one scripting language.
  • Be able to work on-site in Arlington, Texas for the duration of the internship.
Responsibilities
  • Write and debug firmware in C on Zephyr real-time operating system for Arm Cortex-M class microcontrollers.
  • Work on sensor integration and sampling pipelines for IMUs, accelerometers, microphones, and temperature sensors over I2C, SPI, and I2S.
  • Build, flash, and debug boards daily using West, CMake, SWD/J-Link, and serial consoles.
  • Contribute to edge-to-cloud connectivity using Wi-Fi, MQTT over TLS, Thread, and Bluetooth Low Energy.
  • Help collect and validate sensor datasets that feed on-device machine learning models, and assist with deploying and evaluating those models on target hardware.
  • Write unit and integration tests alongside feature code.
  • Build and improve bench tooling, including flash and serial automation scripts, data-capture harnesses, and hardware-in-the-loop test setups.
  • Reproduce, instrument, and root-cause bugs on real hardware, and document the findings.
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
  • Work directly with hardware and systems engineers to resolve issues that are not in software.
  • Present the completed work at the end of the internship.
Desired Qualifications
  • Python is preferred as a scripting language.
  • Coursework or projects involving a real-time operating system such as Zephyr or FreeRTOS, or bare-metal firmware, are desirable.
  • Familiarity with communication buses such as I2C, SPI, and UART and with reading signals on a logic analyzer or oscilloscope is desirable.
  • Exposure to signal processing, including FFTs and filtering, or machine learning basics is desirable.
  • Experience with networking concepts such as sockets, TLS, MQTT, HTTP, or wireless protocols is desirable.
  • A personal hardware or software project that can be discussed in depth is desirable.

E-Space creates and deploys small, easy-to-install devices that can be tracked and connected globally. Its E-Space LEO platform uses AIoT to optimize data from these devices, turning it into actionable insights and automation. They redesign spacecraft, antennas, and terminals to cut the cost of satellite systems and make space technology more accessible. They serve governments, businesses, communities, and individuals, and emphasize ESG goals by using space data to support sustainable decisions.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Arlington broke ground October 3, 2025, backing a North American HQ.
  • Beyon’s Bahrain MoU extends E-Space’s IoT sales pipeline beyond Texas.
  • The US Defense Department awarded E-Space a communications demonstration contract in 2023.

What critics are saying

  • Only nine satellites launched by February 2026; commercial proof remains thin.
  • Arlington’s 480,000-square-foot campus finishes in spring 2027, delaying scale revenue.
  • Hundreds-of-thousands-satellite ambition needs capital, spectrum, and launch execution; one miss kills it.

What makes E-Space unique

  • Greg Wyler’s CommAgility acquisition gives E-Space 5G NTN software depth.
  • E-Space’s 2023–2026 pitch centers on sustainable, deorbit-capable LEO design.
  • Its AIoT stack targets direct device-to-cloud data, not dumb bandwidth.
