Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Build a team of passionate and knowledgeable Guest Advocates and Service and Engagement Leaders who exceed guest service expectations by decreasing wait time, providing friendly guest interaction, and performing service recovery.
  • Drive total store sales and understand how the role, departments, and team contribute to total store profitability.
  • Anticipate staffing needs, create talent plans, and recruit for both long-term and short-term needs.
  • Manage leaders to follow up on training completion, check for understanding, and provide continuous education opportunities for front-of-store experiences.
  • Engage in consistent and meaningful development conversations throughout the critical touch points within the Service and Engagement Team Leader career path.
  • Personalize recognition and appreciation to reinforce critical guest service behaviors and promote a positive, team- and guest-centric culture.
  • Establish accountability through clear expectations and performance management, including listening, observing, recognizing, and coaching on critical Service and Engagement behaviors.
  • Use business reporting and guest insights to understand, troubleshoot, and follow up on opportunity areas.
  • Respond to negative guest shopping experiences by de-escalating situations and ensuring the team feels supported in resolving guest issues.
  • Own schedules that follow scheduling allocation and guidelines to support peak traffic times, key holiday events, and weekends.
  • Manage the store experience by anticipating or urgently responding to staffing and scheduling needs based on guest traffic and sales fluctuations.
  • Ensure Team Leader schedules support a frictionless experience during peak traffic for checklanes, self-checkout, Order Pick-up, and Drive Up.
  • Champion physical and digital offerings so the team can inform, educate, and promote guest benefits, features, and offerings, including Target RedCard and Wallet.
  • Ensure the team stays up to date on major promotions, brand launches, and events.
  • Use guest survey reporting tools to drive change in areas with the greatest impact on guest experience, and use guest feedback to coach and recognize teams.
  • Lead the team to deliver an efficient and hassle-free guest pickup experience.
  • Work a schedule aligned with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, and lead the team to do the same while holding others accountable.
  • As a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
  • Address store needs, including emergencies and regulatory visits.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
