Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five or more years of related work experience in operational management are required.
  • The Operations Manager Trainee must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance, with the driver's license verified through a motor vehicle record check at hire.
  • The Operations Manager Trainee must have reliable transportation for timely travel to multiple offices per day, or reliable alternate transportation in lieu of a driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • Knowledge of dental plans, insurance fees, administrative guidelines, limitations and exclusions, reporting systems, business correspondence, business reporting techniques, and profit and loss statements is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Epic, 1VU, BOX, and standard office equipment is required.
  • The candidate must be able to make timely and accurate decisions using sometimes vague or limited information.
  • The candidate must be able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment without compromising quality.
  • The candidate must be able to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction.
  • The candidate must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents and respond to inquiries from patients, team members, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other business community members.
  • The candidate must be able to apply sound judgment, make valid conclusions, and make decisions under pressure.
  • The candidate must be able to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
  • The candidate must be able to apply probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • The candidate must be able to create presentations and deliver presentation information effectively.
Responsibilities
  • The Operations Manager Trainee is responsible for completing the Operations Manager Development Program through structured curriculum, on-the-job practical application, and development meetings.
  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices while learning to create an environment that promotes company culture and values.
  • Assess, hire, and retain team members through training, supervision, counseling, and coaching.
  • Assess, investigate, and resolve staff and patient issues by analyzing facts and circumstances to develop timely and effective solutions.
  • Execute the operational model consistently to meet office imperatives in partnership with the Owner Dentist.
  • Drive year-over-year revenue and profit growth.
  • Manage expenses to achieve monthly goals and budget.
  • Maintain proficiency in cash management and accounting protocols.
  • Develop the team to deliver the Perfect Patient Experience.
  • Deliver leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication with direct supervisors, report accomplishments and improvement areas weekly to the Regional Manager, and bring issues and concerns forward early.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies.
  • Use available people-related tools and resources for assessment, hiring, retention, performance evaluation, separation, and compensation guidance and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.
  • By the end of the development program, demonstrate competency in managing front-office and back-office team members and in team development.
  • Develop and implement an office success plan, including staff development and office protocols for efficient operations during manager absences.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the direct supervisor that improve team member development outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience leading a team, mentoring, and coaching subordinates are preferred.
