Requirements
  • A master's degree in nursing is required.
  • An active, unencumbered nursing license in Connecticut is required.
  • Academic or nursing leadership experience commensurate with the mission, goals, and expected program outcomes is expected.
  • Documented education in teaching and learning principles for adult education is required, including curriculum development and competency-based assessment, demonstrated through graduate coursework, faculty-development programs, or completion of a certificate program in nursing education.
  • Candidates must be prepared to incorporate simulation pedagogy into courses.
Responsibilities
  • Teach foundational undergraduate nursing courses, with a teaching load of 12 credits each semester, typically four classes.
  • Contribute to the profession and advance the scholarship and service missions of the nursing program, school, and university.
  • Participate in on-campus events, meetings, committees, and other student- and service-related activities.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as required by the supervisor and as departmental or university needs indicate.
Desired Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree in nursing or enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred.
