Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
This position is responsible for income tax area such as federal tax returns, federal tax provision, state tax apportionment, and other income tax reporting and activities for the company. A senior tax accountant reports directly to the tax manager. Requires a knowledge about federal and state income tax and audit support experiences. Requires analytical focus; demonstrating large amounts of data compilation and analyzing year to year and quarter to quarter taxable income changes. Specific emphasis on reduction of discrepancies of the return to provision each year. Demonstrates ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical tax deadlines are met. Coordinates with other Accounting personnel, numerous departments, and external consultants. Candidate must possess ability to monitor tax legislative changes and communicate effectively any changes that impact the company.
Specific Job Duties:
• Have excellent understanding of federal and state income tax laws, rules, and regulations
• Be responsible of preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions, corporate tax returns, and regulatory compliance tasks
• Prepare state apportionment data and review separate filing state tax preparation by third party and make estimated payments accordingly
• Be responsible of leading annual R&D tax credit by collaborating with a consulting firm
• Assist tax manager for Investment Tax Credit(48D) Model
• Be responsible of filing 1099 MISC and 1099NEC
• Be responsible of corporate tax estimates quarterly and providing data to NAHQ for ETR quarterly
• Assist tax manager to provide data to a consulting firm for Cost Segregation Study
• Provide SAP depreciation data to third party for QBAI calculation for FDII
• Be responsible of communicating with various taxing authorities
• Analyze financial statement data annually and provide it to an external consulting firm for annual APA compliance
• Provide strong analytical skills and demonstrate problem solving
• Work closely with the tax manager on information gathering, analysis, and draft responses to federal and states audit IDRs
• Report to the tax manager and work closely with other tax staff and other departments
• Provide ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload
• Complete a review of internal processes to test the accuracy of internal control over financial reporting every quarter and submit evidence and supporting documents via the internal control portal
• Conduct tax research as they arise
• Provide any tax related requests and responsibilities as required or assigned
• Attend ongoing training for personal development

Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required:
• BBA/BS in Accounting required
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years in federal and state corporate tax experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools:
• SAP software experience
• Skilled in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Effective organizational and interpersonal skills; good written and verbal communication
• Highly detail-oriented
