Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Candidates must have or qualify to obtain a current Colorado driver's license.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a pre-hire physical.
  • Required employment checks include a drug test, FBI fingerprint check, Colorado Bureau of Investigation criminal records check, child abuse registry check, motor vehicle record check, academic record verification, and reference checks.
  • Candidates must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States and complete employment eligibility verification.
  • Required training must be completed and maintained, including Qualified Medication Administration Personnel, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, and the Neurosequential Model.
Responsibilities
  • Implement treatment plans and Individualized Education Programs as directed by the clinician and teacher.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring, small group instruction, and student engagement in academic and social-emotional learning.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and therapeutic learning environments.
  • Provide a therapeutic balance of hierarchy and affiliation while responding to children's emotional needs.
  • Implement verbal, non-verbal, and physical behavior-management procedures while balancing clients' needs for structure, nurturing, learning, and recreation.
  • Assist with classroom-management strategies alongside educational, clinical, and student-engagement specialists.
  • Implement positive behavior supports at both the milieu and individual levels.
  • Support quality-improvement efforts by adhering to organizational policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and best practices.
  • Implement behavioral interventions as needed.

  • Experience in an educational setting with special-ne needs children in kindergarten through grade 12.
