Requirements
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act
  • State of Florida Standard Building Inspector License
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications
  • Computer skills to operate a laptop and learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding
Responsibilities
  • Perform Structural Building Inspection duties
  • Inspect commercial and residential buildings
  • Determine changes in plans and make recommendations
  • Maintain accurate inspection records
  • Prepare reports in a timely fashion
  • Oversee maintenance of company vehicle
  • Attend department meetings
  • Drive to various job sites
  • Work varying shift schedules
  • Travel within the state of Florida
  • Complete daily time and labor reports
  • Follow company safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
