Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Comfort with public health as a domain, including sufficient grounding to understand case surveillance and investigation system requirements.
  • Experience managing and delivering services or products within the public health domain.
  • Experience in people management, including providing mentorship, coaching, and career development support to team members.
  • Experience leading legacy modernization or system migration work, including the associated change management.
  • Ability to engage in human-centered design to inform product direction.
  • Familiarity and comfort working with DevSecOps engineers to modify infrastructure and support on-premises to cloud deployments.
  • Ability to manage clients and stakeholders in a way that builds trust, alignment, and healthy environments for individuals and teams.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies such as agile and lean, and how to put them into practice.
  • Experience working on cross-functional product, design, engineering, and operations teams in iterative delivery.
  • A work approach aligned with the company's core values.
  • All work must be conducted within the United States, excluding U.S. territories.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a company background check.
  • Potential ability to obtain a public trust or security clearance if required by the applicable federal contract.
Responsibilities
  • Own the integrated service and product roadmap for migrating at least three state, tribal, local, and territorial health departments per year onto the modernized platform, including identifying opportunities, sequencing work, defining readiness, and translating jurisdiction needs into an actionable plan.
  • Lead multiple project teams across DevOps, content design, and full-stack engineering as they build migration materials, tooling, and documentation.
  • Partner with CDC stakeholders who liaise with state, tribal, local, and territorial health departments to align migration priorities, timelines, and expectations.
  • Facilitate team ceremonies and stakeholder syncs, using data and feedback from migrating jurisdictions to adjust the plan.
  • Set the direction for the team’s work in partnership with the agency and align the team around success criteria.
  • Coach the team through the ambiguity and complexity of government work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with an integrated disease surveillance system as a user or delivery professional.
  • Experience working with complicated deployment infrastructure or supporting an on-premises to cloud migration.
  • Previous employment at a state, tribal, local, or territorial health department.
  • Experience coordinating multiple delivery teams toward one shared outcome.
  • Experience delivering technology in government, regulated industries, or other public-benefit settings.
  • A track record of staying aligned and accountable on remote teams.
