Requirements
  • An associate’s degree, or at least 60 credits toward a bachelor’s degree, in early childhood education, special education, psychology, or a related field.
  • At least one year of successful teaching or classroom experience working with preschool children in an early childhood setting, or one year of other highly related experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing challenging behaviors and knowledge of social and emotional development in preschool-aged children.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles, including experience designing and delivering interactive professional development.
  • Intermediate computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based systems.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a properly insured vehicle or public transportation.
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including criminal history, motor vehicle record, child abuse, and FBI clearances.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with developing and implementing behavioral interventions based on child behavior observation outcomes.
  • Deliver classroom support based on child behavior observation outcomes.
  • Provide education and guidance to families and colleagues about social-emotional development and positive classroom guidance.
  • Maintain high-quality behavioral services.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Young Children.
  • Bilingual or multilingual ability.
  • Participation in Head Start or Early Head Start.
