Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five years of housekeeping experience are required.
  • Three years of previous supervisory experience are required.
  • The employee must be able to perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, reaching, and bending and operate floor equipment such as vacuum cleaners, autoscrubbers, and buffers.
  • The employee must meet the Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard.
  • The employee must be capable of wearing appropriate personal protective equipment for an extended period of time.
  • The employee will have frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and different types of cleaning chemicals.
  • The employee must be available for scheduling based on the hospital's operational needs.
  • The employee must be able to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
  • The employee must understand assigned areas, necessary supplies, and equipment.
  • The employee must be able to read and follow written work assignments.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the environmental services department and align operations with organizational objectives.
  • Establish and maintain high expectations for cleanliness and ensure all job assignments are completed according to standards.
  • Develop housekeeping staff through hiring, training, performance management, employee relations, and coaching.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for building cleaning to maintain facility cleanliness.
  • Investigate and address escalated complaints regarding poor housekeeping service.
  • Maintain relationships with external vendors and internal departments.
  • Travel frequently between Summersville Regional Medical Center and Braxton County Memorial Hospital.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree is preferred.
