Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of paralegal or legal experience, or an associate's degree and a minimum of four years of paralegal or legal experience, or a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of eight years of paralegal or legal experience plus demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • A minimum of two years of legal experience is required.
  • Must be able to work independently while also leading a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have analytical skills, and efficiently handle multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Must have listening, verbal, and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts professionally, with tact and sensitivity.
  • Must have time-management skills.
  • Must have interpersonal and follow-up skills and be able to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Must have or be willing to attain a Notary Public license within three months of accepting the position.
  • A driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to perform a System Emergency Assignment, including working non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of legal support professionals, including union and management employees, by providing direction, training, mentoring, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure that court dates, filing deadlines, statutes of limitations, and regulatory timelines are accurately entered and tracked.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and assembly of Law Department-generated documents.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate payment of invoices, claims, and litigation settlements.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for attorneys, paralegals, and outside counsel regarding deadlines.
  • Develop procedures, including automation solutions, to streamline Center of Excellence operations.
  • Compile and update weekly and monthly reports to track team performance, flag issues, and support workflow management.
  • Provide career development support and guidance to staff.
  • Support the appropriate use of artificial intelligence tools within the team by following company guidelines, safeguarding sensitive data, and ensuring human review of artificial-intelligence-generated work.
  • Enter and approve time in the timekeeping system.
  • Respond to company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to customers.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

(Con Edison) (NYSE: ED) today reported 2024 net income for common stock of $1,820 million or $5.26 a share compared with $2,519 million or $7.25 a share in 2023.
