HEXPOL acquires leading Italian Wire & Cable compounder Vipa Group.

HEXPOL acquires leading Italian Wire & Cable compounder Vipa Group. HEXPOL acquires 100 percent of the Italian company Vipa Group with headquarters in Ancarano on the Italian east coast. The company is one of Europe's leading developers and manufacturers of high-quality thermoplastic compounds with a focus on the fast-growing Wire & Cable segment. The acquisition significantly strengthens HEXPOL's product portfolio and geographical reach in the segment. Vipa Group is being acquired from the Paolini family, who founded the company in 1969 and have since then developed the business into a true specialty compounder with above-market profitability. The Paolini family will support the transition to HEXPOL ownership during a period of 18 months while the current CEO, Nicola Vigolo, will continue to manage the company as a subsidiary within the HEXPOL structure. The operations include two well-invested production sites in Italy, as well as a state-of-the-art R&D centre. In 2025, the company had a turnover of 76.4 MEUR, approximately 80 employees and open capacity to grow within the current footprint. Vipa Group will significantly strengthen HEXPOL's Wire & Cable offering with exposure to electrification, data centres, telecom and smart buildings. Peter Rosén, acting CEO and CFO, said: The acquisition of Vipa Group marks an important step in executing the growth strategy for the new business area Thermoplastic Compounding that was presented at its Capital Markets Day in November 2025. It also demonstrates its ambition to build a leading thermoplastics platform through both organic growth and acquisitions. Vipa Group brings leading positions in Wire & Cable, strong material expertise and exposure to long-term structural growth drivers such as electrification and data centres. The acquisition includes the entire Vipa Group, consisting of the companies Vi.pa S.r.l. and Vi.pa Polimeri S.r.l. Stefano Paolini, Chairman of the Board and member of the founding family of Vipa Group, added: Cable Technology News is very pleased to have found a new industrial owner for Vipa Group that is committed to continuing its activities in the region while upholding its policy of sustainable development. HEXPOL has demonstrated deep knowledge about the business and a willingness to further invest and develop the Group its family has built over more than half a century. The Group's heritage will continue, and its employees will be part of a group with a strong future. At HEXPOL's Capital Markets Day in November 2025, the company announced an increased focus on Thermoplastic as a key growth platform. More information about HEXPOL's Capital Markets Day on the company's website. The acquisition price amounts to 143.5 MEUR on a cash and debt-free basis and is funded by a combination of bank facilities and cash. The acquisition is expected to close during the third quarter of 2026. In connection with the acquisition of Vipa Group, Cable Technology News now have a greater critical mass in its offering to the Wire and Cable industry. Therefore, HEXPOL's subsidiaries HEXPOL Izmir and HEXPOL Vilafranca will, as of July 1, be part of the business area Thermoplastic Compounding instead of, as currently, the business area Rubber Compounding. Hexpol focuses on polymer strategy, shares tracked against European peers. 22.06.2026 - 17:39:57 | ad-hoc-news.de Hexpol is drawing investor attention with its established polymer-compounding strategy and position in the European materials sector, where peers such as Covestro and Borealis set important reference points for margins and demand cycles. By Stefan Krueger, Long-Term & Business Model desk. Reviewed prior to publication on 2026-06-22, 17:37. Hexpol (SE0011624077) remains a specialist in polymer compounds for automotive, industrial and consumer applications. Within the European chemicals and materials universe, investors often compare the group with names such as Covestro and specialty segments at BASF when assessing profitability and capital allocation. Position in the European sector. The company operates in a cyclically exposed part of the materials sector where demand trends in automotive, construction and general industry drive volumes and pricing power. European peers like Covestro and BASF's performance materials division provide reference margins and capacity-utilization benchmarks for long-term oriented investors. For portfolio managers focused on the broader STOXX Europe 600 chemicals and materials space, Hexpol's niche in advanced rubber and thermoplastic compounds offers diversification versus bulk chemicals and commodity plastics. The business model emphasizes engineered solutions and close customer integration rather than high-volume, undifferentiated products. Long-term strategy and business model. Over recent years the group has concentrated on building out its polymer-compounding platform through targeted investments in production capacity, process technology and application development. The focus is on supplying tailored material formulations that meet specific customer requirements in areas such as sealing systems, vibration damping and high-performance industrial components. This high-mix, solution-driven approach typically aims at margins structurally above basic commodity-material producers, albeit with exposure to the same end markets. For long-term shareholders, the key variables remain utilization rates at the group's compounding plants, the ability to pass through raw-material cost swings and the pipeline of new application wins with OEM and Tier-1 clients. Background and data on the Hexpol shares. Further company reports, regulatory filings and price information help investors assess how Hexpol fits into the wider European materials and polymer-compounding landscape. What the company sells. Hexpol's core activity is the development and production of engineered polymer compounds, notably rubber compounds and thermoplastic elastomers, which are used in automotive sealing systems, building components and various industrial applications. The company also supplies associated services such as formulation support and technical application advice. Where the stock trades today. Strategic Partnership to Protect Production Operations Worldwide

Strategic partnership to protect production operations worldwide. HEXPOL and Oktogrid form strategic partnership to protect production operations worldwide. HEXPOL, has entered into a strategic partnership with Oktogrid to deploy transformer monitoring across its global production footprint. The commercial agreement establishes a standardised, group-wide approach to monitoring critical electrical assets in both existing and future HEXPOL facilities. "Reliable electrical infrastructure is fundamental to stable industrial production," said Carsten Rüter, President Technology at HEXPOL. "This partnership enables us to proactively protect our operations, reduce unplanned downtime risk, and make more informed decisions about maintenance and asset lifecycle management, without disrupting production." The rollout will equip HEXPOL sites worldwide with Oktogrid's monitoring solution, providing 24/7 visibility into transformer condition, early risk detection, and improved planning for maintenance and asset renewal. The solution enables a fast and uncomplicated installation process per transformer and supports efficient deployment across industrial facilities. For HEXPOL, uninterrupted electrical supply is essential to protect production continuity, product quality, and operational safety. By introducing a harmonised monitoring standard across all sites, the company gains a consistent, data-driven basis for managing transformer risk - independent of existing monitoring tools already in place at individual facilities. Oktogrid's monitoring solution is non-invasive and designed specifically for industrial environments, allowing operators to move from reactive responses to planned, condition-based decision-making. The system supports early identification of developing risks, helping prevent failures before they impact operations. "We are proud to support HEXPOL with a scalable, globally standardised monitoring approach," emphasized Golam Sadeghnia, CEO of Oktogrid. "This agreement reflects a clear focus on operational resilience, production protection, and long-term value creation - areas where industrial companies increasingly demand simple, fast-to-deploy, and reliable solutions." The partnership underscores the growing importance of operational transparency and risk prevention as manufacturers navigate increasingly complex energy systems and rising demands on electrical infrastructure.
