Certified Home Health Aide / Certified Nursing Assistant

Position Title: Certified Home Health Aide        FULL-TIME, PART-TIME & WEEKEND POSITIONS AVAILABLE

FLSA Status: NONEXEMPT     Competitive Salary Rates depending on Experience 

                                                   Salary Ranges:  $35,360.00 - $45,760.00

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE Performs various resident care activities and related non-professional nursing services.

 II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Assists residents with activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, hair care, nail care, mouth care, back care, and toileting. Performs any procedure as delegated, within the scope of practice and MCF policies. 

Completes and documents all care as assigned in an accurate and timely manner.

 • Transports residents to and from activities and/or appointments in a timely manner. 

• Assists licensed personnel with treatments and collection of specimens as directed. Takes vital signs (TPR & BP) and performs glucometer checks as directed. 

• Assists in keeping residents' rooms neat; replenishes care items as needed. 

• Observes residents and answer call bells in a timely manner to determine residents’ needs. Reports any unusual conditions or reactions to Nurse or Director 

• Assists residents with shopping, packing or unpacking personal belongings when required and as directed upon arrival, discharge, or change in level of care. 

• Responds to Fire and Disaster alarms and drills according to procedure. Assists residents to safety during an evacuation. 

• Serves between meal nourishments as ordered by physician. 

• Participates in Inservice education programs and staff meetings and maintains compliance with yearly education requirements according to MCF policy and DOH regulations. 

• Participates in the orientation of new nursing personnel. 

CHHA Cedar Commons 05/02/2023 JOB/ POSITION DESCRIPTION 

• Supports nursing staff with orientation of new residents as assigned: assists with completion of resident care needs information sheet upon admission and updates annually or as needed. 

• Assists with ambulation, therapy programming, etc. 

• Assists with meal service (including set up, resident assistance, delivery and clean up). 

• Participates with and encourages resident engagement in activities.

 III. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

 IV. KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Must be comfortable working with COVID-positive patients.

 • Must be  flu vaccinated per CDC guidelines and Masonic Village policy. 

V. LICENSES/ CERTIFICATIONS • Must have a valid New Jersey Certified Nursing Aide OR Home Health Aide license.
