3D Mechanical Designer

Overview

Our Energy Group is seeking a 3D Designer to join the team! ENERCON’s Energy Group provides engineering support to industrial facilities, traditional fossil and hydropower generation facilities, and alternative, renewable, and sustainable power generation facilities, such as solar or alternative fuels.

Join our team and take on a pivotal role in creating and modifying P&IDs, 3D models, layouts, and isometric drawings. You'll conduct field walkdowns and collaborate with engineers to turn design concepts into reality. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, refine your technical skills, and contribute to projects that have a lasting impact, driving innovation and excellence in the industry. This role can be located in one of the following offices:

• Kennesaw, GA
• Tampa, FL

Responsibilities

Picture yourself shaping vital designs—creating P&IDs, 3D models, and layouts that directly impact project success. You'll walk the field to gather key insights, then collaborate with engineers to refine your work, ensuring every detail drives the project forward. Each day offers the chance to make a tangible impact, delivering solutions that matter and leave a lasting mark on the industry.

• Innovative Design & Drafting: Modify and create P&IDs. Create 3D models for the purpose of creating 2D drawings. Modify and create general arrangements (equipment layouts). Modify and create orthographic layouts (plans, sections & details). Modify and generate isometric drawings
• Impactful Fieldwork: Conduct field walkdowns and sketches
• Dynamic Collaboration: Work independently but confer with engineers and other designers for design concept interpretation. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (or equivalent) and 6 or more years experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years drafting mechanical and structural drawings
• Must have experience in AutoCAD 3D modeling with Plant 3D software
• Be able to use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• The candidate should have a general knowledge of Industrial equipment such as valve types, pump types, exchangers, etc
• Ability to travel between 10-20% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D
• Navisworks Software
• Autodesk Recap
• Have general experience in the use of point clouds for the purpose of 3D Modeling

• If a salary range is listed, it reflects the typical range for this full-time position based on the role, level, and location. Individual compensation within the range will be determined by factors such as work location, relevant experience, job-related skills, and education or training.
