Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of practice-based experience or experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The role requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, use fingers continually for patient care, writing, and computer entry, and perform routine stooping, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or pushing.
  • The role requires the ability to hear normal conversation and have good general, near, and peripheral vision.
  • The role requires communication, facilitation, presentation, compliance, time management, clear patient communication, listening, compassion, empathy, and a patient-centric mindset.
Responsibilities
  • Engage patients in a polite, prompt, and compassionate manner during practice-based patient interactions.
  • Perform clerical patient service functions, including check-in, consent collection, check-out, pre-registration, real-time eligibility verification, registration, MyChart education, appointment and testing scheduling, point-of-service payment collection, and handling form and medical record requests.
  • Deliver waiting-room concierge service and provide hands-on support to patients using the kiosk check-in process.
  • Facilitate practice opening and closing procedures, maintain practice cleanliness, process incoming mail and deliveries, manage and reconcile cash, and scan and index incoming faxes.
  • Support practice-based team members by promptly addressing in-basket clerical pool messages.
  • Partner with Access Center Patient Engagement Partners to address time-sensitive scheduling requests.
  • Facilitate connections from Access Center Clinical Triage Specialists to practice-based care team members for time-sensitive clinical inquiries.
  • Anticipate and address patient needs by partnering with organizational team members and departments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduation from an administrative training program is preferred.
