About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a full-stack engineer with a strong focus on software design skills, testability, and CI/CD automation, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our software environments, contributing to both backend and frontend development using Python/Django and modern front-end stacks like React.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain both backend and frontend components of our applications using Python/Django and React.

• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code following best practices.

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment processes.

• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other engineers to refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.

• Conduct code reviews and establish coding standards to maintain high code quality.

• Implement front-end monitoring and performance tools.

• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our applications are current.

• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

• Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a software engineer, with significant experience in full-stack development.

• Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React, and a solid understanding of ES6 features.

• Proficiency in Python/Django (or similar framework) for backend development.

• In-depth knowledge of front-end development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Testing Library, Jest, Playwright, or similar) and test-driven development (TDD).

• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience working with cloud infrastructures, particularly AWS (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3).

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.

• Solid understanding of web security best practices and common vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF).

• Experience with prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Zeplin

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Healthcare related experience is a plus

• Knowledge or equivalent experience working in environments handling sensitive data (ex PHI in healthcare)

Reporting

This role reports to Software Engineering Manager, Ben Cloutier.

Location

We are a remote first company! You must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We cannot support visa sponsorship at this time.
