Responsibilities
- Design and perform calculations for pressure vessels and tanks to meet the requirements of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes, primarily Section VIII
- Develop detailed specifications for pressure relief systems
- Create concepts/layouts for new projects
- Create detailed mechanical designs and select hardware/components
- Perform engineering calculations and FEA to validate equipment and tool designs
- Create models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials for fabrication by others
- Conduct equipment inspections and witness testing of pressure vessels at various stages of fabrication
- Develop detailed specifications of related process equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, and other processing equipment
- Work with the infrastructure team for proper documentation of pressure vessels during permitting and installation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in pressure vessel and tank design for diverse applications
- Experience designing for 24/7 industrial use, with safety and reliability at forefront
- Highly proficient with pressure vessel design software, COMPRESS preferred
- Extensive knowledge of ASME BPVC current codes for design of pressure vessels
- Structural design (skids, equipment supports, mezzanines)
- Tank design (pressure vessel and/or reactor/containment/agitated)
- Piping design, mainly around nozzle layout with operations and maintenance access in mind
- Highly proficient with Solid Modeling 3D CAD
- Skilled in creating detailed drawings, with strong knowledge of GD&T is preferred
- Well versed in all types of industrial/chemical processing equipment
- FEA experience
- Working knowledge of tank and vessel fabrication processes
