The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Athletics BusinessOperations Intern(Student Wage)to support theBusiness Office and Director of Employee Support, Success, and Engagement.
The Athletics BusinessOperations Internwill provideadministrative supportandassistancewith projects related to the financial and human resources aspects of the Athletics Department. Theideal candidate will beinterested in a career inCollegiateAthletics,Finance, and/orHumanResources. The day-to-day schedulecan be setaccording to the student’s class schedule; a minimum of5-10hours a week is preferred. The AthleticsBusinessOperations Intern will abide and adhere tothe highest confidentiality standards, as well asall NCAA, ACC,andUniversityrules and regulations.
- Assistwith student-athletetextbookand/or tax reimbursements.
- Process independent contractor payment requests.
- Create expense reports for medical billing and travel charges.
- Assistwith financial reporting accuracy.
- Provide financial data analysis where needed.
- Assistwith data collection where needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Assist with Driver Authorizationand Motorized Utility Vehicleapprovals.
- Assistwith employee onboarding and offboarding tasks.
- Maintain volunteer employee processes and follow-up tasks.
- Assistwith planning departmental functions.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Eligible for student employment (preference give to FWS)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent customer service skills and professional work habits.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Dependable and responsible.
- Organized and able to multi-task.
- Ability tomaintainconfidentiality.
- Some office experience is preferred.
