Requirements
  • The applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate.
  • The applicant must have at least 1 year of directly related education and experience in the research specialization, with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures, and analysis methods.
  • The applicant must have significant experience in molecular biology, in vitro and in vivo mouse experiments, biochemistry, protein assays including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and gel analysis, nucleic acid work including cloning, PCR, RT-QPCR, RNA synthesis, transfection, extraction, gene overexpression and silencing, and microscopic analysis including immunofluorescent staining, immunohistochemistry, light microscopy, and image analysis and processing.
  • The applicant must be fluent in laboratory equipment and computer, research, and office software used to analyze experimental data.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, lead, and conduct highly technical research projects under the principal investigator's guidance.
  • Identify research questions, design and perform experiments, analyze research data, and provide interpretations.
  • Serve as a lead author for publications and conference presentations.
  • Contribute to laboratory quality control through preparation of general experimental materials, maintenance of laboratory protocols, safety guidelines, and animal protocols.
Desired Qualifications
  • Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or be close to completing Ph.D. training in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Genetics, Biology, or a relevant field.
  • Four to six years of wet-lab experience, including Ph.D. training, is preferred.
  • Experience conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments in immunology, pathogen-host interactions, general cell biology, and biochemistry is preferred.
