Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise software, software as a service, cloud platform, database, or developer platform sales.
  • At least 3 years of experience directly managing high-performing enterprise sales or specialist teams.
  • Demonstrated success executing specialized go-to-market motions or scaling new product lines within a larger matrixed organization.
  • Strong technical baseline and understanding of modern application architectures, including application programming interfaces, microservices, real-time systems, and distributed applications.
  • Proven track record selling into chief information officer, chief technology officer, architecture, and platform engineering organizations.
  • Ability to co-sell and navigate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles alongside core account teams.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in highly competitive markets.
  • Ability to translate complex technical platform capabilities into tangible business value for executives and developers.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
  • Own, manage, and exceed quarterly and annual consumption and booking targets for Lakebase within the region.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline across application modernization, database consolidation, and operational workload opportunities.
  • Support the team in replacing or consolidating legacy operational databases onto the Databricks platform.
  • Execute and scale repeatable sales plays that drive land-and-expand adoption.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage a high-performing team of Lakebase Sales Specialists.
  • Provide direct, hands-on coaching on complex deal strategy, technical qualification, and executive engagement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, execution, and customer focus.
  • Partner with regional sales leadership to integrate specialists into account plans and territory strategies.
  • Implement the global strategy for selling to application developers, platform engineering, and architecture organizations within the region.
  • Enable the regional core field sales team to identify and qualify operational workload opportunities.
  • Roll out discovery frameworks for application architectures, real-time systems, and transactional workloads.
  • Lead architecture workshops and developer engagement initiatives to demonstrate tangible business value.
  • Establish trusted relationships with regional chief information officers, chief technology officers, chief architects, and platform leaders.
  • Position Databricks as an application data platform alongside its data and artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Directly support the team on strategic, high-value accounts pursuing application modernization or real-time digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cloud providers, systems integrators, and independent software vendors to accelerate adoption.
  • Serve as a feedback loop from the regional field to Product, Engineering, and Global Specialist Leadership.
  • Provide structured insights on regional customer requirements, competitive dynamics, and blockers.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to localize and refine messaging, positioning, and competitive differentiation.

Databricks hires ex-AWS executive to lead Asia partners amid 85% growth

Databricks has appointed former Amazon Web Services executive Briscoe to lead its Asia Pacific & Japan partner organisation. She previously headed AWS's partner operations in the region and held similar roles at Microsoft and Cisco. The move supports Databricks' regional expansion. In April, the company named Simon Davies as regional leader and reported over 85% year-on-year growth in its fourth quarter. It now has more than 1,500 employees across Asia Pacific & Japan and plans to establish headquarters in Singapore. Databricks works with over 1,000 partners regionally and 8,000 globally through its Brickbuilder Partner Network. The company's AWS business has surpassed a $1 billion run rate. International Data Corporation forecasts Asia/Pacific AI spending will reach $175 billion by 2028.

Coatue leads $3B Databricks investment at $134B valuation

Coatue Management is reportedly leading a $3 billion investment in Databricks, according to recent reports. The data analytics company previously raised roughly $5 billion earlier in 2026 at a $134 billion valuation. Databricks sells a lakehouse platform combining data lake and data warehouse capabilities and has expanded into AI software for enterprise applications. The company reported $5.4 billion in revenue run rate in February, up over 65% year on year, which grew to $6.9 billion by June. The earlier financing round included $2 billion in debt capacity intended to fund AI products, acquisitions and employee liquidity. At its current valuation, Databricks exceeds Snowflake's market capitalisation of approximately $83 billion. Management has indicated the company may remain private until market conditions improve.
