  • MS in Electrical Engineering and 15+ years of related experience
  • Subject matter expert in the following:
  • RF Engineering
  • Microwave propagation techniques
  • Commercial modulation techniques/schemes
  • Overall system level communication requirements
  • Principles of radio testing techniques in support of EMI, EMC, and vulnerabilities of wireless sensors
  • Ability to lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight from the Government lead
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Active Secret Security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and develop wireless communications networks for Soldier-borne systems.
  • Conduct traffic analysis, system design, frequency planning, interference analysis, and performance optimization for Soldier-borne systems.
  • Evaluate candidate wireless solutions and make recommendations based on mission requirements and the RF environment.
  • Identify critical spectrum management aspects affecting the development and application of new wireless sensors.
  • Develop and maintain System Security Plan (SSP) documentation for Soldier-borne RF systems.
  • Develop and maintain architecture for Soldier-borne RF systems.
  • Perform and document optimization techniques to include proper antenna selection for optimal performance, appropriate transmit power, and antenna clearance for optimal performance within Soldier-borne constraints.
  • Lead, manage, and coordinate activities of RF planning, system design, system employment, and system security.
  • Serve as RF subject matter expert for all technical aspects of assigned programs, stay abreast of current technology applicable to the PM/PEO portfolio, and represent the PM or PEO at PEO-wide technical and system level IPTs, as well as meetings with other DOD agencies.
  • Support wireless efforts taking place at US Army labs and serve as a liaison.
  • Translate military operational and mission requirements (ground, sea, air, and space) into practical system concepts and performance specifications.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes.
  • Participates in post awards, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as the project engineer and/or technical expert on assigned programs.
  • Evaluate design efforts to ensure integration of all the engineering disciplines and adequacy of the analyses performed, bringing in additional technical expertise as needed.
  • Review test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, for both Government and Contractor tests, as well as all failure reports.
  • Review and evaluate system performance against specification requirements, monitor and assess field performance, and assess risk of meeting user and specification requirements.
  • Initiate engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required and conduct physical and functional configuration audits.
  • Review program management documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content.
  • Submit technical reports and quick summaries of key technical activities, efforts, and events.
